ELECTRICAL ACU-POINT STIMULATION

Electrical Acu-point Stimulation is a concept utilized to combat chronic and acute pain.  This approach is a non-invasive therapy applying concentrated, low frequency / high power stimulation to ancient acutherapy points, motor/trigger points and contracted motor bands.  The approach is based on the premise that ancient eastern medicine philosophies combined with modern electro-therapy technology can provide synergistic therapeutic results.  Applying electrical acu-point stimulation will provide immediate pain relief, decrease muscle tonicity, and accelerate tissue repair for any form of musculoskeletal disorder.  Although motor points, trigger points, and acupuncture points have been used in therapy for many years, when combined in specific combinations and patterns, they greatly increase the therapeutic outcome of each treatment.

Acu-point stimulation has a high patient compliance due to its immediate effectiveness and fast clinical application.  Being non-invasive, it has no restrictions / nor potential adverse effects like dry needling or acupuncture needling techniques.  Acu-point stimulation is not a replacement for manual medicine or physical therapy.  Acu-point stimulation should be used in a comprehensive approach for those patients having acute and / or chronic pain.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is a revolutionary therapy that dramatically increases the body’s ability to heal and repair itself. FSM can increase the rate of healing by up to 5 times and do so safely and effectively.

Every function in the human body is electrically based. The electricity made inside your cells provides the power for your body. When microcurrent is applied to the body at a specific frequency (speed), it can have positive effects on the condition of tissues and organs. FSM can help the body recuperate, promote pain relief, relax muscles, dissolve scar tissue and improve healing, all at accelerated rates.

FSM is painless; in fact you cannot even feel it. FSM provides electric current in the millionth of an ampere, which is below the stimulation threshold of sensory nerves. (Your own cells generate a current in the micro-amp range.)

Facts about Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM):

  • Increases ATP (the body’s own chemical energy) production by up to 500%
  • Reduces Cox-mediated inflammation by approximately 60%
  • Increases protein synthesis by 70%
  • Increases amino acid transport by up to 40%
  • Remodels and transforms scar tissue
  • Increases “feel good” Beta endorphin levels
  • Helps restore depleted adrenal function
  • Reduces fracture repair time by up to 50%
  • Enhances DNA synthesis, insulin binding, oxygenation, cellular repair, intracellular calcium uptake and immune function
  • Enhances neuromuscular recovery rate between events

What conditions respond to FSM treatment:

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is most often used to treat pain, especially nerve and muscle pain, inflammation, and scar tissue, from the following conditions:

  • Shingles
  • burns
  • kidney stones
  • asthma
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • disc injuries
  • fibromyalgia
  • diabetic neuropathy
  • neuromas (overgrowth and scarring to a nerve after an injury)
  • tendinopathy (inflammation and/or swelling of the tendon)
  • acute (sudden) and chronic (long-term) musculoskeletal injuries
  • acute and chronic neuropathic (nerve) pain
  • chronic fracture and bone pain
  • arthritis
  • torticollis (the head is tilted to one side)
  • disc injuries-discogenic pain and facet-based pain
  • viscerally-referred pain
  • concussions
  • headaches
  • plantar fasciitis (pain in the heel and foot)
  • sports injuries
  • wounds
